Learning journal #5

When going on with the required readings I recall a moment when I was younger when Icloud first came out. Where you can upload pictures and have them on other devices. Also, send your pictures there and save them. So, one could clear their space on their phone and delete other photos. Now there are so many different platforms in apps where you could trade, send pictures, and even upload albums to a cloud where you could share them with other people, and they can see your memories. Professionally if this affected me in any sort of way, I would feel a tad bit violated because it is my own personal cloud I would not want my professional field commenting or even seeing my personal cloud. Making use of the cloud is very useful. You can switch devices or upgrade your phone and still maintain your pictures. When using Flickr, it was pretty simple and very easy. I did not have trouble with it. I did not realize Flickr was available in 2012. I thought it was a newer app. My personal use of social media has always been private. At the end of the day what you uploaded cannot be taken down, it will always be on the Internet somewhere. I personally always keep that in mind when uploading something or putting a picture on my story. Privacy, as we move forward, seems to be a luxury. In order to maintain this privacy, I believe you just have to delete the app or get rid of social media as a whole, or simply not post. Even then it’s tricky due to a person liking, possibly commenting, or even following a page. That is more specifically in a personal way but when it comes to professionally using social media. If I were to put myself in those shoes I would only post content related to my professional career. Yes, I would want a more personal page where I could post whatever I want. That would affect my followers, views possibly, and at the end of the day even your job. If you’re using social media to make money one must have to realize you may not have a personal life at all. If one is a vlogger and they vlog about their life. People like this are very open, they share their lives, what they do during the day, etc.

  1. I also remember when Icloud first came out. So much has changed with technology over the past years. I too would not want business professionals to see my personal icloud.
